Walk into Summer

 A Five-Week Feldenkrais® Series – June 2026

Walking is part of daily life — for shopping, gardening, getting the mail, or simply being outdoors. It is also one of the most accessible things we can engage in for our physical and mental well-being, supporting comfort, vitality and connection with ourselves and our surroundings.

Yet from time to time we may notice limitations, discomfort or fatigue that lessen our enjoyment or confidence. Often we assume that walking difficulties require more effort, more stretching, stronger muscles, or simply pushing through.

Walking, however, is about more than strength or stamina. It involves continuously managing balance and shifting weight, with a coordinated flow through the whole self. Contrary to what is often believed, balance is not the absence of instability, but the ability to move in and out of imbalance quickly and effortlessly, moment by moment.

Sometimes walking becomes easier not through pushing harder, but through discovering new ways of organizing ourselves in movement.

  • How do we place weight through the feet?
  • How do pelvis, ribs and breathing participate?
  • Where do the eyes orient
  • How do we habitually carry effort?

These are some of the questions you will be invited to discover how they improve walkings.

What to Expect

Lessons are done in different positions — lying on the floor, sitting and standing. Each session typically runs 45–60 minutes. After class, you are welcome to stay on to share reflections, ask questions, or simply remain with your experience.

All you need is a quiet space where you can move and explore without interruption.

Can’t make it live? Recordings are sent the following day, allowing you to revisit or experience the lesson in your own time. You are also welcome to email us with any questions after you have had a chance to explore.
